About Currency of Preference on International Shopping

Currency of Preference on International Shopping allows you to shop in over 60 currencies and pay for qualifying purchases in your local currency with an eligible American Express, MasterCard or Visa credit or debit card.

International Shopping allows you to shop in over 60 currencies and pay for qualifying purchases in your local currency with an eligible American Express, MasterCard or Visa credit or debit card. You can update your currency by changing your currency settings from USD to your preferred currency method from the available currencies listed below. When you elect to pay with an eligible card, your order total will be listed in your local currency on the order summary page. This benefit is only provided to you when you are shipping your order outside the United States with International Shopping. If shipping within the United States, your order may be eligible at checkout for Amazon Currency Converter.

The currency you select is for reference use only. Prices may be displayed in your selected currency for your convenience, but the actual sales price (if in a non-U.S. currency) will be calculated at checkout and may be different. Your order must satisfy the following requirements to be eligible for paying in your preferred currency with the Amazon Currency Converter:

  • You must pay with an eligible American Express, MasterCard or Visa denominated in a currency supported by the payment method you have selected. View supported currencies by payment method here .
  • Payment can include promotional offers or discounts, but not gift cards or Amazon Shopping Cards.
  • Your purchase cannot include subscriptions or digital products, except for Kindle eBooks which may be eligible for purchase in Indian Rupees (INR).
  • The estimated shipping date of all items must be within 14 days of placing your order.

When you purchase in your preferred currency:

  • We'll automatically display your order total in your local currency on the order summary page.
  • You'll always have the option to pay either in your local currency or in US Dollars.
  • The applicable exchange rate, which will include all Amazon fees and charges for your use of the Amazon Currency Converter, will be displayed below your order total at the time of purchase.
  • The same foreign exchange rate applied to your purchase will be applied in the event of a return, so you get back what you paid - even if the exchange rate has changed.
